Happy New Year! Every year, it’s so hard to believe that another year has come and gone. We all know that last year had its up and downs… all we can do is keep pushing forward because we never know when life is going to throw us curve balls.
Let’s dig in deeper January Pinterest trends and what you should share in the new year.
Top Pinterest Trends January 2021
Every month, it’s interesting to see what’s popular! This January, it looks like many are obsessed with the latest show on Netflix, Bridgerton, and quotes from Michelle Obama. Because it’s the new year, you can also see that many pinners are interested in healthy recipes and redecorating or remodeling their homes.
New Years Resolution
January is the time of year when people are looking forward to a fresh start or even a clean slate. On Pinterest, they are looking for ways to take action and make a change.
People are Pinterest are setting goals and looking for things to help them fulfill their dreams.

Pay Off Debts
I don’t know much about fashion, but I do know that people are ready to buy when they’re searching for clothes on Pinterest. Consumers are usually looking for a specific look or looking to a celebrity or influencer to inspire their wardrobe.
Food & Drink
Healthy recipes are usually popular all year round (minus Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas LOL) but January is where it’s at. Pinners are exploring new recipes and new diets in particular.
Beauty is always about the nails! Every month I usually see nail colors and manicures reflecting the current season or upcoming holidays. Right now, you’ll see nails inspired by Valentine’s Day.
There are also popular searches around hairstyles and up-dos. Right now, I see hair dyes and braids.
If you’re a real estate agent, home remodeler, or someone who loves sharing DIY tutorials, then the Home section on Pinterest is for you. This is such a popular topic on the platform, especially now because of the global pandemic.
Many parents are working from home, college students and apartment dwellers are studying at home, and many kids are still being homeschooled. In many parts of the worlds, people have become accustomed to getting cozy at home, working from home, socializing from home, and planning at-home activities.
That means that now, more than ever, consumers are interesting in making their living rooms, bedrooms, and kitchens extra cozy and stylish.
If you’re working in the travel industry, you can still use Pinterest to your advantage. While people may be limited on their travel options, they are still dreaming about travel.
I do find it interesting that Pinterest users are searching for beaches, mountains, and girls’ trips. Wherever you’re located in the world, chances are you are within driving distance of a beach, state parks, beautiful hiking trails, ski resorts, or remote Airbnbs for “off the grid” experiences.
