Juggling a budding business with your personal life can be difficult… especially when you’re managing it all by yourself!
But I think when you prioritize your to-do list by how it can help you market your business in the long run… you’ll be working smarter, not HARDER.
Here are my tips for prioritizing your marketing tasks. You don’t want to miss these!

1.) Treat yourself as a client.
Don’t overbook your time so you can’t market yourself! Set aside an hour per day or one day per week to focus on YOURSELF. You can’t grow your business unless you market it!
2.) Ask yourself, what has the best ROI?
Out of the ideas that you have, which ones have the longest lifespan? Let’s be honest, an Instagram post will put eyeballs on your content for a day or two… but what about a blog post or an email opt-in?
However, if Instagram is a top referrer for you… awesome! I recommend treating it as a micro-blog. Write detailed posts on Instagram, then re-use the content on other platforms! More details on this in a sec.
3.) Google is your friend.
Check your Google Analytics to see where your traffic is coming from. Go to Acquisition ➡️ All Traffic ➡️ Source/Medium. For me, my top referrers are Google, @flodesk (my email list), and Instagram.
Sign up for Google Search Console and see how your site is ranking on Google. Seriously, this one was a game-changer for me. Now that I know what keywords my site ranks for, I can plan better blog content!
4.) Blog content is key.
If you haven’t guessed it yet… I’m telling you to prioritize your blog! Not only can you get traffic from search engines… but blog content can be a foundation for the content you share on social media, your email list, your Pinterest, or use it as a script for YouTube content. Repurposing your best content is key.
5.) Set up automations… like email marketing!
And one last thing – FOCUS ON YOUR EMAIL LIST. Does it take time and effort to create a stellar opt-in? Yes, it does. But, you can set them up through automated emails. Once the work is done, you don’t have to worry about them! Let 2021 be the year of AUTOMATIONS. There are so many tools out there that do the work for you. Take advantage of that!
