Undefining Motherhood is an online space that provides education regarding fertility, miscarriage, pregnancy, giving birth, and motherhood.
In Katy’s own words:
This blog is my gladiatorial ring. In my ring, I staunchly defend the idea that we cannot be doing it wrong because “wrong” requires the existence of a “right.” Here, I fight for the idea that there is no essential truth, no age-old way to mother, no time of life in which we’re supposed to mother or way in which we’re supposed to come to have our children. Our digital age may prescribe rules, call people names, categorize lives, and define roles, but I insist that we can also use it to break down barriers, learn from each other, and strip away the definitions placed upon us. This digital space is where, how, and why I believe we should undefine.
How We Connected
We met through ATL Girl Gang when Katy’s website was brand new. When it was just the two of us, we worked on establishing initial blog content and growing a presence on Instagram and Pinterest. As time progressed, Katy added more writers to her team, and I took over editing behind the scenes on WordPress and managing Pinterest.
Pinterest Management and Strategy
For this Pinterest account, I used Canva to create graphic templates Tailwind to schedule pins. As part of the blogging process, we used the plugin called GROW by Mediavine to hide Pinterest images within each blog post.
