Google Web Stories Creation for WordPress Bloggers
Heard the buzz around Google Web Stories yet? Keep reading to learn more about why you should publish Google Web Stories on your blog for better SEO!
Why Should You Focus on Creating Google Web Stories?
The concept of Stories has become popular on all of the social media platforms. You may have already created “stories” for Instagram or Pinterest in recent years.
Google, however, has set up its Stories concept to help you generate more traffic to your own website.
And since you are publishing Web Stories on your own website, you own your content. How awesome is that?
On top of that, publishing Web Stories consistently is an excellent way to boost your website’s SEO.

Results from Publishing Google Web Stories
If you want to increase your number of email subscribers, Google Web Stories can help you do that. On one client’s website, their first web story was published on June 28, 2021. Every web story links back to at least one blog post on the main site, where a pop-up appears within 10 seconds promoting a freebie. In 60 days, their email list has grown 44% (over 3,500 subscribers)!
Here are a few samples of Web Stories that I have created and published for bloggers.

Each of these packages will include installation of the Web Stories plugin on your website, as well as setting up the property in your Google Analytics to track results. In addition, I will analyze your top performing blog posts because we will prioritize creating Web Stories for those first.

Are Web Stories right for me?
First of all, Web Stories are currently only available on WordPress (at least, if you’re using the Stories plugin that’s provided by Google). In 2021, I’ve seen a variety of results for food blogs, DIY blogs, gardening blogs, and home decor blogs. The best performing stories are the ones that show a step by step tutorial or a listicle that inspires consumers who are searching for ideas. I’ve even published a web story that promoted a vegan cookbook and only listed a handful of the recipes that are included within the cookbook after purchase.
What sort of results will I see?
As with many SEO or social media strategy services, results can vary based on a wide variety of factors. I’ve seen some stories go viral within days after being published, while another story went viral for one day well over a month after it was published. I do recommend that you have a concrete element on your website that will bring people back for more (like a follow button for your Instagram account or a pop-up that gets new subscribers on your email list).
